The impact of this cybercrime also spreads to all sectors including lower-middle business (43%), the financial sector (10%), the health sector (15%), and the public sector (16%).
In Indonesia itself, efforts to maintain digital data security have not been maximized, seeing that the Personal Data Protection Bill has not been completed. Awareness of the importance of data authentication and verification is also still not commonly prioritized. For example, in early August 2019, hundreds of cases of misuse of personal data from fake borrowers were detected on one of the peer-to-peer (P2P) lending fintech platforms. Transactions that occur even reach hundreds of millions. The victims are not only fintech parties but also lenders and original data owners.
